Assassin’s Creed Revelations fait suite à l’épisode Brotherhood, et clôture la trilogie liée au personnage d’Ezio, amorcée en 2009 avec le deuxième volet de la série. À cette occasion, l’histoire emmène le joueur au début du XVIème siècle dans la ville de Constantinople. Pour la première fois dans l’histoire de la série, Jesper Kyd n’est plus le seul compositeur de cet épisode et partage désormais cette tâche avec Lorne Balfe, connu pour son travail sur Modern Warfare 2 et Crysis 2. Balfe a notamment assumé seul la composition du mode multijoueur du jeu, qui correspond au 3ème disque de cette bande originale.
